Firm's Team Effort Wins for Angels Baseball

On January 7, 2005, a team of attorneys from the Los Angeles and Orange County offices of Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC successfully opposed the City of Anaheim's request for a temporary restraining order to block the January 3, 2005 change by Angels Baseball, LP of the name of the team to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. As a result, the name change is in effect.

On the afternoon of January 6, 2005, the City of Anaheim's lawyers delivered their voluminous pleadings to a prepared team of the Firm lawyers; and before 4:30 p.m. that same afternoon, winning opposition papers were filed by the Firm's attorneys with the Orange County Superior Court. The next morning, lawyers Todd C. Theodora and Richard J. Decker appeared in Court and defeated the City of Anaheim's injunction request. A further hearing is set for January 21, 2005.

The Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC team worked with the law firm Powell Goldstein LLP, which acts as the outside general counsel for Angels Baseball, LP.
